Cat Carriers

Cat carriers are among the most essential items that you’ll need if you own cats. You may only need a carrier for trips to the vet, or you may travel extensively and need a carrier to transport your cats from place to place.

When choosing a carrier, find one that is sturdy and can be opened and closed easily. Also look for a carrier that is easy to clean and that you can reach into without a problem when you need to get the cat out. Carriers that open on the top are easier to use, but if you travel by airline, you may not be able to use this type of carrier.

You can use a hard-sided rectangular carrier as a den for your kitty when you reach your destination. Keep the door open and put a blanket or bedding inside. Cat carriers like this are usually approved for airline travel as well.

If you are looking for something that is easier to carry, you may prefer a soft luggage-type carrier. Keep in mind, though, that these types of carriers are not ideal as a place for the cat to spend time when the journey is over. Click on the pictures for more about these two carriers.
